Consultant Cardiologist I graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia in 1998 and undertook two years of work for Queensland Health in both large teaching hospitals and rural environments. I moved to the UK in 2000 against the prevailing tide of emigrating doctors to gain experience in the NHS, and never looked back. I completed my junior doctor training in Bath and was awarded my MRCP by the Royal College of Physicians, London. I then worked briefly in the Oxford Deanery before starting specialist training in the West Midlands where I worked in all of the major cardiology units gaining broad experience. I sub-specialised in Heart Failure and Cardiac Devices (pacemakers and defibrillators) being trained by international experts in the field.
